Abagnale Jr. is the main character of the book “Catch Me If You Can.” In the film, he was interpreted by Leonardo DiCaprio.

In my opinion, Frank is the most interesting character because during the story he has different turnovers. During his childhood, he had a good standard of life. After his parents got divorced, he became a con man pretending to be different people and, he played the pilot’s and the pediatrician’s role. He was also arrested by the FBI and he was treated like serious criminal in France.

This character is orientated to gain money and love women. Because of his goals, he is creating strategies to get easy money by stealing it through false checks. During his con man life, he has a big obstacle: the FBI agent Carl Hanratty, who is looking for him around the world.

As I mentioned before, Frank is a dynamic character in the film because he has to change his strategy and move from one place to another avoiding the FBI investigation to arrest him.

I imagine that Frank will change his character because he is very close to getting arrested by9 Carl Hanratty. For a while, Frank should be hidden somewhere.

When I compare the character between the movie and the book, I find that Frank’s life is changed a little. For example, in the book, he said he had brothers and sisters, but in the film he is the only child in his family. In the film, when he was young he pretended to be a French teacher, it does not happen in the book.

I don’t think the differences between the book and the movie are very relevant. The film’s director keeps the main characteristics of the real Frank but makes his personality stronger in some areas.
